Hidde P. Deketh, MD., is a General Practitioner / Family Doctor. He was born and raised in the Netherlands and graduated at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.

​

Thereafter he completed the residency in General Practice (Family Medicine) in Cambridge, Essex, and Kent, the United Kingdom, in 2003.

 

He has postgraduate training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Aviation Medicine, Maritime Medicine and Travel Health with working experience in Kenya, Curaçao, and England before setting sail to St Maarten. He teaches Medical Students of the American University of the Caribbean and was President of the Board of the Windward Islands Medical Association from 2007-2014,
